hell hath no fury

Have you heard, or are you familiar with this quotation?

“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned / Nor hell hath fury like a woman scorned.” — The Mourning Bride” (1697) by William Congreve

Now the next question is, do you believe in it?

I do believe in it. A woman can be a martyr once foolishly in love. But once she’s fed up, she can easily cut ties – without turning back. They say that once a woman is in this point of her life, no matter how many regrets she have, she’ll not think twice. But don’t think bad of us women, because before we’ve reached this far end . . . a lot of things had happened. And I’m sure that the other party is the main reason.

Just my 2 cents, don’t wait for a woman to be near her wits end before finally wanting to listen to her reasons. Don’t wait for the time that she’s about to explode before you stop. Don’t wait. For you’ll never know what she can do. She can either hurt you physically and/or emotionally. And I’m sure, that it’s more than thrice as hell hard as what you did to her. Treat her the way she is supposed to be treated. She deserves it, you know it – you can’t deny it.

Going back to the quotation, I’ve included the year when this quotation was first published. And as far as I know, during that time women were not regarded as equals of men and yet something like this has been recovered.

cleanse, tone, moisturize . . . protect

I’m sure you’re aware of these: cleanse, tone and moisturize. They are the basic in skin care. Though basic, they serve as a good foundation in having a very good smooth skin. Also, you need not only cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin because you also need to protect it. As we go on, I will try to tackle why these 4 steps are important in keeping the skin glowing and beautiful.

Step 1: Cleanse
Cleansing or mere washing of the face is very important because it removes dirt and excess oil in the skin. After washing, the pores in the face were left open. Also, too much washing of the face is not good. It can also result to dryness thus a not-so-good feel and appearance of the face.

Step 2: Tone
By means of the toner, the facial pores that were opened by cleansing can be closed. Also, toning is for deep cleaning. The dirt that are not removed by water and/or soap/facial foam/facial scrub can be removed by the toner.

Step 3: Moisturize
Cleansing and toning contribute in losing the moisture of the skin. And in order to replenish what’s lost, a moisturizer is a must-have. Moisturizers bring back the skin’s moisture.

Step 4: Protect
UV rays is not good for the skin. It promotes aging and wrinkling. That is the reason why we need to protect it by means of a sunblock.

DIY: Hot Oil

I used to do this when I was younger since I do not have enough money to go to the salon and have a treatment. I cannot recall my age during the time I used to do this, but I guess this homemade hot oil treatment really helped my hair to recover from dryness.

For the materials, you’ll need to prepare the following (I’ll try to explain the reason why you need to have this and that as we go on):
1. Olive Oil
This is the star in this Hot Oil Treatment. Olive Oil is an organic material so this treatment is 100% safe. Also, Olive Oil is famous for the nutrients it possesses that is good for the body.

2. Heating Pan
Any pan will do. You just need it to heat the oil.

3. Shower Cap/Towel
In the absence of shower cap, a towel may be used but both can be used at the same time. This material/s will be used in covering up the hair covered with warm Olive Oil.

4. Stove/Microwave
This will be used to heat the Olive Oil. I recommend a stove though because you can easily distinguish the temperature of what you’re cooking.

Now that we have the materials ready, we can procede with the treatment. Here are the steps that you need to follow:
1. Heat an ample amount of Olive Oil in the heating pan. The temperature should only be warm, NOT HOT!

Heating it too much can cause you your beautiful hair, or worse, it might burn your scalp!

2. Wet your hair and towel dry it. Then you may now start applying the warm Olive oil in your hair.

3. While applying, be sure to massage your scalp. Massaging the scalp promotes good circulation of blood in the head.

4. Wrap your hair with the towel or with a shower cap. (You may use both though) And leave it still for 30 minutes up to 1 hour.

5. Rinse the hair thoroughly with shampoo. You may apply conditioner (but I doubt that you’d feel like applying for the hair is definitely smooth, silky and super soft after the whole procedure). Just apply the conditioner to the hair. Do not apply it to the scalp! Applying conditioner to the scalp can cause itchiness because the scalp will produce more oil.

Note: After having a hot oil treatment in the salon, you’ll be advised not to shampoo your hair for the next two days. But in this homemade hot oil treatment, it is up to you if you want to shampoo it the next day or not.

stockings

Stockings are usually worn because of the following reasons:

And the list of reasons continues but do you know that this thing offers more than what it looks like?

You may not believe it, but stockings contribute to women’s health. It helps in the circulation of blood to the legs. Once tired, the veins in the body dilate. Walking and standing for hours also contribute in the vasodilation of blood vessels. Stockings are designed to be tight. And since it is tight, it helps the blood vessels to constrict.

Second reason to wear stockings is because it prevents varicose veins. Varicose veins are caused by the back flow of blood in the vein. The veins become enlarge once there is a back flow and thus the veins become enlarged resulting to varicose veins. Stockings can prevent varicose veins by simply constricting the blood vessels. Once the blood vessels has constricted, the back flow of blood may be prevented and also varicose veins.

Note: According to wikipedia, stockings that are so tight can aggravate varicose veins.

why go bare?!

I have always been a big fan of the bare look or the nude look because it’s simple and classy. I also know that not all femmes do not like it. But still I really like having the natural look, and here are some of the reasons why I’m so into it.

1. It looks natural. People won’t go ballistic if they see you without make-up.
2. It doesn’t require an ample amount of time to prepare the look. It’s a simple make-up so 5 minutes is ok and you’re good to go.
3. It serves as a base. The natural look always blend with the other looks – especially with flashy eye make-ups.
4. It’s easy to learn. You need not read/watch tons of tutorial to know how to put this kind of look. More so, no need for practice.
5. Since this look is simple, it’s easy to mix and match this with clothes and occasions.

what’s in!

The air is hot and sultry . . . this only mean one thing, S-U-M-M-E-R! Personally, I’m not a big fan of summer since the hot weather isn’t something I go jolly for. But what I like about it – with summer vacay as exemption – is Summer Fashion. Since the weather is hot, people tend to tone down their prepping skills. No need to go overboard with the clothes since going overboard will make you look like an alien.

The same goes for make-up. Since it’s hot, make-ups are usually natural or nude. And I find nude style really beautiful. And the in lip-color, CORAL! It’s close to the pinky red shade but it’s bare . . . very subtle and natural.

Doesn’t it look nice?
